Two 'Mights'

I might be able to give more, if I were richer.

I might be able to start a charity, if I win the lottery.

I might be a better business owner, if I go to or finish college.

I might be a better parent, if I had been raised differently.

I might be more compassionate, if others did not bully me.

I might. I might. I might........ IF!

How many times do we think or hear the "If this...then that" scenario? Quite often, I suppose. Do you see how often that these 'might' actions depend on the 'if' happening; thus laying the responsibility on other people or situations? So often we (people in general) blame others or refuse to accept responsibility ourselves.

In the garden, Adam blamed his choice to sin on the woman who gave him the fruit. As God was speaking to Adam, he also blamed God by complaining about "the woman YOU gave me". Basically Adam was saying, 'I might not have sinned, if you had not given me the woman'. Genesis 3.

And then there is the mite.

A widow came to the synagogue where the rich man had given out of his wealth. This poor woman gave only two mites, but those two mites were all she had. She did not give from her abundance. She did not blame others for her lack. Neither did she contribute less due to her lack of wealth. She gave all that she had. Luke 21:1-4

SO, how do we apply that to today? How do we make this relevant to our lives?

Take a look around your life - your home - your business. Are you reaching your goals? Are you blaming others for your lack of success or for your circumstances?

Are all areas within your control? Maybe. Maybe not. But, the ones that are, you must take responsibility for and control of.

Pray fervently.

In all that you do, be a widow and give your two mites.
